The Cultural center is a scottish rite mason building. It was built by the same person who designed Rockafeller center in NYC.There are hidden passageways throught the building and rumors of ghost activity within it as well.Air conditioning had since been installed in the auditorium where this show was played.

Had a backpack full of ice and bottled water... I learned from an earlier Bobby show here.. I have no idea if maye I'm a bit hometown prejudice but it seemes whenever I have to drive less than 10 miles to hear any of the boys it is always stellar.. This night was no exception.... I am bumming because a chronic back injury has kept me from all the current shows. So I'm doing a little reminessing.... None of us are getting any younger...wait, ...What's that?? Is the light getting dimmer??/ Only if we let it. Love to all my friends. Crazy Sweeney

The first one's free, kid. Just so you know, it probably wasn't LSD at all. Take it from a real hippie. Yes, I'm from San Francisco and all that crap. And yes again, I'm old now. Best of luck. Take a deep breath and go do something better with your life than follow around bands. You'll get the crabs and become a communist.
Oh, yea. A review. Wonderful show. Thanks to all.
Best,

this was the show where i found out what i wanted to do for the rest of my life.it was only my 2nd dead show,my first was a ratdog show, but i remember i had turned 17 6 days before this show, and at the time the only dead albums i had where skeletons, and in the dark.so i knew and was able to sing direwolf, casey jones, tons of steel.this was also my first expirence with LSD and loved it,thought it was the wonder drug,4 years later i found out its not.but i will never ever forget this show,oh yeah did i mention im from scranton? i remember me and my 2 buddies walking home from the cultural center,i think we were giggling the whole way home.i will never forget this night as long as i live. thANK you phil!!!!!!!!!!!

being that this show was one of my first i must say it was pretty awesome.. though it has been some time i also remember how hot it was in that building... a friend of mine past out from the heat and i remember the security wouldnt let him out to get air... thats why this show only gets a four but musically it was great

I remember this show very well. Got a call from ticketmaster the morning of saying the venue had changed to the scranton cultural center. I actually ran into people at the show who didn`t get the message and wound up at the original venue. This show will always stand out in my mind because it was a million degrees inside. The fire marshall made the venue close all the windows to the place which made things almost unbearable inside. I remember halfway through the show..they turned on these huge fans every where which was nice, but basically it was just blowing stagnant air everywhere. Phil`s road crew must have made a run to walmart or something cause soon after the first set everyone on stage had there own person floor fan. Overall this show was pretty sweet. A nice Passenger, Casey Jones, and the way the crowd just lifted the band up in Golden Road with our clapping. Things kind of got off track in that one, but you can hear how Molo and the rest of the band started to feed off the crowd....that song still gives me goose bumps. Great show to have been at!
